An Teallach Sunrise was taken at the beginning of June. There were a few weeks of really hot weather and cloudless skies. On this particular weekend, Jack noticed the unusual weather forecasts, full cloud cover for the villages and a very clear mountain forecast and he was puzzled at how they could be so vastly different. He thought there could be a chance of a cloud inversion and as An Teallach was a mountain he wanted to climb as it's renowned for its beauty, he decided to plan a trip.

Climbing up through the clouds in the afternoon, Jack was aware of the clouds forming around him and he was worried that the forecast had been incorrect, but eventually, two-thirds of the way to the summit, he climbed out of the clouds into glorious sunshine. As he reached the summit he had an incredible 360 view of the cloud inversion, he'd never seen anything like it before.

He quickly made camp and set up his camera to capture the sunset. It was such a beautiful still evening and the mountains were lit up with the golden light. As he'd also brought a small drone with him, Jack was able to fly that over the peaks and film the sunset from angles that he couldn't see from his vantage point.

When he woke early in the morning the view was even more spectacular as the cloud had risen up and filled the coire below him. In this picture, the sun is rising behind Jack, casting the shadow of Bidein a'Ghlas Thuill, where he camped, onto Sgurr Fiona and Corrag Bhuidhe. The half-moon visible in the perfect sky was an unexpected and beautiful feature.
