Story From Behind The Lens

Jack captured this panorama during an overnight summit camp on Beinn a’ Chrùlaiste above Glen Coe in August 2022. The trip had been carefully planned months in advance to photograph sunrise at a very specific time of year, when the early morning light rises from the northeast directly behind the summit ridge, casting long shadows across the steep rock face of Buachaille Etive Mòr.

Setting off on a hot August evening carrying overnight camping equipment, Jack climbed to the summit and camped high above the glen as the last light settled across the surrounding mountains. By sunrise the following morning, the conditions had aligned perfectly, with warm golden light slowly illuminating the landscape and bringing depth, texture, and contrast to the distinctive shape of the Buachaille.

Photographed from the quieter summit of Beinn a’ Chrùlaiste, this perspective offers a wider panoramic view across Glen Coe than the more familiar roadside viewpoints beside the A82. In the foreground, the winding road through the glen leads toward the mountain itself, also known as the “Great Herdsman of Etive,” with the famous James Bond Skyfall filming location sitting just beyond.

Size Guide

Canvases

Our panoramic canvases are designed to suit the wide Highland landscapes Jack photographs, helping to bring a real sense of scale and atmosphere into your space.

Small Panoramic (22x8 inches / 55x20 cm)

A smaller panoramic size that works beautifully in hallways, smaller rooms, shelves, or narrower wall spaces. These are also ideal as part of a gallery wall where you can combine similar Highland locations, colours, or favourite memories from Scotland together.

Medium Panoramic (40x16 inches / 100x40 cm)

A versatile panoramic size that suits most spaces comfortably, particularly above side tables, desks, fireplaces, or smaller sofas, where you still want the landscape to feel expansive without overwhelming the room.

Large Panoramic (60x22 inches / 150x55 cm)

At roughly the same width as a king size mattress, this panoramic canvas works particularly well above beds or two-seater sofas, creating a strong focal point while still feeling balanced within the room.

Extra Large Panoramic (80x30 inches / 200x75 cm)

Our largest panoramic format creates a much more immersive feel and works best on larger open walls where the full scale of the Highland landscape can really stand out.

Hand-Stretched In Applecross

Every canvas is hand-stretched in-house using premium materials designed to showcase the texture, depth, and detail within Jack’s photography.

Our canvases can also be complemented by our range of rustic locally crafted frames, including contemporary floating post frames or reclaimed Larch frames made here in Applecross, each with its own natural character and texture.

Fine Art Prints

Our archival fine art prints are produced on premium paper chosen to bring out the depth, texture, and changing light within Jack’s Highland photography. Every print is hand signed by Jack and arrives rolled in a protective tube, ready to frame in your own style.

Small Fine Art Print (20.5x8 inches / approx. 52x20 cm)

A smaller print size that works particularly well in narrower wall spaces, smaller rooms, or as part of a gallery wall alongside other Highland locations and favourite memories from Scotland.

Large Fine Art Print (33.5x13 inches / approx. 85x33 cm)

A more statement-sized print that suits most spaces comfortably, whether displayed above furniture, within a hallway, or as a focal point on its own.

Mounted Prints

Our mounted prints offer a more compact, affordable, and versatile option, professionally prepared in-house and ready to display. Each mounted print includes a hanger on the back, allowing you to hang it directly on the wall without framing, while also working beautifully styled on shelves or bookcases.

They’re particularly suited to smaller spaces, gallery wall arrangements, or gifting.
