Jack opened the doors to Applecross Gallery in July 2015.

To mark the end of a successful first decade in existence, Jack lead his team to camp on the summit of Beinn Alligin to celebrate the milestone.

The team woke together for sunrise on the morning of the 10-year anniversary, and this is the photo he captured to commemorate that moment.

Each copy is signed and numbered, with only 50 copies ever being printed on canvas.

These are available to buy as they are, and are delivered ready to hang on the wall. Alternatively, if you would like to add one of our unique larch frames please contact us to discuss the options.

Story From Behind The Lens

Ten years on from opening the doors to the Applecross Gallery, Jack lead his team to camp on the summit of Beinn Alligin in Torridon.

This mountain holds a special place in Jack's heart. It was the first mountain summit he ever camped on to capture a sunrise or sunset photograph, back in 2015. Something that has since become a staple in Jack's work. That first trip was a huge success, with Jack coming home with both a sunrise & sunset panoramic photo that have since been enjoyed by hundreds of people across the globe.

The group woke at 4am hoping to catch a beautiful sunrise and new photograph in the process. But what would they find when they climbed out of their tents?

Print Guide

Hand-Stretched Canvas

At The Applecross Gallery, we use high-grade, UV-resistant canvas with a matte finish alongside a professional-grade 12-ink printer. This advanced technology captures the full tonal range and precise colour of Jack Marris' Highland photography, ensuring each piece has remarkable clarity and longevity.

Every canvas is hand-stretched in-house over durable pinewood frames crafted by local artisans, creating a unique, authentic addition to your decor. Your order arrives ready to hang, bringing the beauty of the Highlands straight to your space.

Floating Post Frames (Small Framed Canvases)

Floating post frames provide a contemporary way to display your favourite Scottish prints. The prints appear to "float" within the frame, giving a clean and modern aesthetic that enhances the artwork. These frames are a great option for those looking for a sleek, minimalist presentation.

Larch Post Frames (Medium Framed Canvases)

Larch post frames offer a rustic and unique way to display your favourite Scottish prints. Crafted from reclaimed larch fence posts, each frame carries its own natural character and history, adding warmth and texture to the artwork. These frames are perfect for those who appreciate a more organic, earthy aesthetic while supporting sustainable practices.

Size Guide

Canvases

Our panoramic canvases are designed to suit the wide Highland landscapes Jack photographs, helping to bring a real sense of scale and atmosphere into your space.

Small Panoramic (22x8 inches / 55x20 cm)

A smaller panoramic size that works beautifully in hallways, smaller rooms, shelves, or narrower wall spaces. These are also ideal as part of a gallery wall where you can combine similar Highland locations, colours, or favourite memories from Scotland together.

Medium Panoramic (40x16 inches / 100x40 cm)

A versatile panoramic size that suits most spaces comfortably, particularly above side tables, desks, fireplaces, or smaller sofas, where you still want the landscape to feel expansive without overwhelming the room.

Large Panoramic (60x22 inches / 150x55 cm)

At roughly the same width as a king size mattress, this panoramic canvas works particularly well above beds or two-seater sofas, creating a strong focal point while still feeling balanced within the room.

Extra Large Panoramic (80x30 inches / 200x75 cm)

Our largest panoramic format creates a much more immersive feel and works best on larger open walls where the full scale of the Highland landscape can really stand out.

Hand-Stretched In Applecross

Every canvas is hand-stretched in-house using premium materials designed to showcase the texture, depth, and detail within Jack’s photography.

Light returning can also be complemented by our range of rustic locally crafted frames, including contemporary floating post frames or reclaimed Larch frames made here in Applecross, each with its own natural character and texture.
